The area around Daereungwon in Gyeongju is famous for its Ssambap (Leaf Wraps and Rice) area. There are many shops that serve “Bulgogi, Leaf Wraps and Rice” or “Leaf Wraps and Rice Set Menu.” In addition to everyone’s favorite bulgogi, the table is full of savory grilled fish, savory soybean paste stew, various seasonal side dishes and plenty of ssam vegetables. It has been a long time since Koreans love Ssambap unusually. You can see from the old records that lettuce was planted in each house to eat ssam (leaf wraps).
